Central Parke at Victoria Falls, in the southern part of Laurel, is called a '55+ resort community' (meaning that it's for the retired and semi-retired among us). Russett is a large community of townhomes, condominiums, apartments and single-family homes located adjacent to Route 198 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Construction began on Russett in the 1990's and continues to grow along it's northern boundaries.

The Maryland Science Center in Baltimore is the state's primary public museum devoted to the exploration of science. The Science Center includes an IMAX theater, a planetarium and an observatory.
