Laurel Lakes in Laurel, Maryland

Most of the homes in Laurel Lakes were built in the 1980's and 1990's, mostly townhomes and condominiums. The community is located behind (to the west of) the Laurel Lakes Shopping Center and is accessible from Route 1 via Cypress Street and Mulberry Street or from Cherry Lane via Ashford Boulevard. Shopping and restaurants are easily accessible from the homes of Laurel Lakes, even by foot. Five restaurants are located along Laurel Place, while the Laurel Lakes Shopping Center (after a major reconstruction completed in 2005) contains Safeway, Best Buy, Lowe's, and several other stores - plus another half-dozen places to eat.

Laurel Lakes townhomes are located along Ashford Boulevard and Oxford Drive. There are several different "mini-communities" of 2- and 3-story models, most with garages. The area overlooking the north side of the main Laurel Lake is full of townhouses.

The Marymont Apartment complex dominates the south side of the main Laurel Lake with 100+ units in several three-story buildings. There's a nice clubhouse for renters, with a fitness center and adjacent swimming pool.

laurel lakes condo photo Bridgeport Condomium is one of three condos just off of Mulberry Street, situated next to the tennis courts. Bridgeport has over 100 units in 10 3-story buildings. Each building is divided into groups of 6 units that share a common entry. Bridgeport has a swimming pool.

Next door to Bridgeport are The Vistas condomiums. These are also 3-stories, with a group of a dozen units in each building.

The third condo complex along Mulberry Street is The Tiers - a "garage condominium".
