Maple Lawn is a mixed-used development in the southeastern corner of Howard County. The community is less than a mile from Route 29, making access to the north (Columbia and Baltimore) and to the south (the Washington, DC area) a breeze.

Maple Lawn is considered a "Traditional Neighborhood Development", with an emphasis on making life a little more "walkable". Many of the homes are placed closely together and close to the street. The residential district is most conviently accessed from Johns Hopkins Road, just across the street from the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.

Coming to Maple Lawn off of Scaggsville Road (Route 216) you can visit the fast-growing commercial district. There are a few stores already open, a couple of restaurants, plus some 3-story office buildings. Maple Lawn Boulevard is now open, connecting Route 216 and Johns Hopkins Road, and offers easy access between the residential and business districts.
